Gorah Elephant Camp

Our Opinion...

Situated in the malaria free sanctuary of the Addo Elephant National Park, the Gorah experience is totally unique. Whether experiencing the majesty of elephant herds gathering by the waterhole, or encounters at matchlessly close range, Gorah perfectly compliments your Garden Route Adventure.

Restored to its 19th century Colonial splendour and period furnished, the main house reflects opulence and delivers the meticulous service characterising Hunter Hotels' properties. Elephant wonder at will through the park, and other game frequently spotted, include the black rhino, black-maned lion, zebra and antelope along with excellent birdlife.

Accommodation is arranged in ten luxurious colonial tented suites with thatched canopies. Mahogany furniture, gauze-draped four-posters, polished wood floors, smart bathrooms with hot showers and private decks overlooking the savannah belie the term tent in no uncertain terms.

Dining here at Gorah is an experience, with colonial fine dining with an African twist served by attentive staff either in the dining room by a roaring log fire or under the stars in the boma.

For relaxing moments between activities, sun loungers are scattered around the sundeck and freeform swimming pool. With a much-frequented waterhole in front of the lodge, elephant everywhere, game drives in open landrovers or on a horse, the Gorah experience is as unique as it is memorable
